Chester County Library Celebrates Teen Photography Contest Winners

The Chester County Library System has announced the winners of its second annual Teen Photo Contest, titled Color Our World. The results were revealed during a celebratory reception on August 10, 2023, at the Chester County Library in Exton, Pennsylvania. This event allowed guests of all ages to celebrate the creativity of local teens and view a gallery featuring original artwork submitted by students.
The contest welcomed entries from Chester County residents and students in grades 6 through 12 enrolled in local schools. Participants could submit photographs in two distinct categories: Traditional Photo, which required minimal editing, and Anything Goes, encouraging digital manipulation and artistic enhancement.
April Nickel, Youth Services District Coordinator, highlighted the contest’s success, stating, “This year we had 52 total entries from 18 different townships and boroughs throughout the county.” The first, second, and third place winners in each category were announced at 1:30 PM and their work will be displayed in the library vestibule until August 30, 2023. Additionally, a complete slideshow of all entries is available on the Chester County Library’s YouTube Channel.
