Chester County Library Celebrates Teen Photo Contest Winners

The Chester County Library System announced the winners of its second annual Teen Photo Contest, titled Color Our World, during a celebratory reception held on August 10, 2023, at the Chester County Library in Exton, PA. The event, designed in an open-house format, welcomed community members of all ages to honor the creativity of local teen photographers and to explore an engaging gallery showcasing the original artwork submitted by students.
This year’s contest attracted a total of 52 entries from participants in grades 6 to 12, representing 18 townships and boroughs throughout Chester County. Contestants were encouraged to submit photographs in one of two categories: Traditional Photo, which required minimal editing, and Anything Goes, where digital manipulation and artistic enhancement were welcome.
April Nickel, the Youth Services District Coordinator, expressed enthusiasm for the level of engagement this year, stating, “This year we had 52 total entries from 18 different townships and boroughs throughout the county.” The competition culminated with the announcement of first, second, and third place winners in each category at 1:30 PM.
