Nike has unveiled an upgraded version of its popular Vomero 18 running shoe, now featuring waterproof Gore-Tex technology, reflective 3M materials, and enhanced grip with Storm-Tread rubber outsoles. This new iteration is designed specifically for winter conditions, ensuring comfort and performance for runners during the colder months.

The Vomero 18 was initially launched in February 2025, and the upgraded model is now available in five styles for men and three for women. Among the men’s options are the Black/Anthracite and Pure Platinum/Light Pumice/Barely Green/Metallic Silver combinations, while women can choose from Black/Crimson Tint/Black/Black and Seaweed/Light Liquid Lime/Cyber/Seaweed styles. Each colorway includes reflective accents to improve visibility in low-light conditions.

This updated version retains the dual-density setup of ZoomX foam and ReactX foam, which has been well-received by runners. The key enhancement is the waterproof Gore-Tex lining, which replaces the standard engineered mesh of the original Vomero 18. The technical mesh allows for breathability while keeping feet dry, making it a suitable choice for wet weather.

The Storm-Tread rubber outsole provides increased traction on slippery surfaces, ensuring that runners can maintain their performance, even in adverse conditions. Despite these improvements, the shoe is expected to deliver a similar running experience to the original Vomero 18, which has gained popularity as both a performance sneaker and a lifestyle choice.

The upgraded Vomero 18 comes with a price increase, retailing at $180 compared to the standard model’s $155. The new shoes are available on Nike’s website and at select retailers, catering to both serious athletes and casual wearers looking for winter-ready footwear.

Nike’s commitment to innovation is evident in this latest release, reflecting the brand’s ongoing effort to enhance its footwear lineup for diverse conditions and consumer needs. As the winter season approaches, the Vomero 18’s Gore-Tex upgrade is poised to meet the demands of runners seeking functionality without sacrificing style.
