Google Introduces AI-Powered Presentation Creation via Gemini

Editorial

Published

on

Google has launched a groundbreaking feature within its Gemini app that enables users to generate entire presentations from a simple text prompt. This innovation, utilizing the app’s “Canvas” feature, allows individuals to create multi-slide decks that include themes and relevant images, transforming Gemini into a robust content creation tool.

Streamlined Presentation Creation

The process is designed for simplicity. Users can access the Gemini app via the web and select the “Canvas” option in the toolbar. By requesting Gemini to “create a presentation” and either specifying a topic—such as “a lesson on the Roman Republic”—or uploading existing documents like research reports or class notes, the app creates a comprehensive set of slides in seconds.

Once the initial draft is generated, users can export the presentation directly to Google Slides for further refinement or collaboration with team members. This feature significantly enhances productivity for a diverse array of users.

Applications Across Various Fields

Google emphasizes the versatility of this tool, highlighting its potential for multiple user groups. For professionals, it facilitates the creation of initial pitch decks from sales briefs, while educators can generate lesson presentations complete with engaging visual aids, saving valuable preparation time. Students benefit by converting their class notes or completed documents into structured presentations, making it easier to organize ideas for class projects.

This powerful new feature is currently being rolled out, with full availability expected by November 12, 2025. Presently, it is accessible via the Gemini web interface at gemini.google.com and mobile web, with plans for inclusion in native Android and iOS applications in the near future. The rollout targets a broad audience, encompassing nearly all Google Workspace customers, including those in Business, Enterprise, Education, and Nonprofit sectors, as well as subscribers to Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.

As businesses and educational institutions increasingly rely on efficient content creation, this new capability positions Google as a leader in integrating artificial intelligence into productivity tools, potentially reshaping how presentations are developed and delivered.
