Abxylute to Launch Groundbreaking Glasses-Free 3D Handheld

Abxylute has announced plans to sell a groundbreaking glasses-free 3D handheld gaming device, previously known as the Sunday Dragon 3D One. Co-developed with Intel and Tencent Games, this innovative product features an impressive 11-inch autostereoscopic display, which allows users to enjoy 3D visuals without the need for glasses. The device is expected to hit the market in late September or early October 2023, with a retail price under $1,700, according to marketing head Eunice Lu.
The Abxylute 3D One stands out due to its unique specifications. It is powered by an Intel Lunar Lake chip and offers a dedicated toggle to switch between 2D and 3D modes. The device incorporates Tencent’s eye-tracking technology and is designed to enhance the 3D experience for gaming and multimedia content. This includes a Tencent app that adds 3D depth to 2D photos, videos, and games using a real-time interleaving algorithm. Notably, Abxylute claims that the device is optimized for 50 popular Steam games, such as Black Myth: Wukong, Naraka Bladepoint, and Hogwarts Legacy.
Design and Features of the Abxylute 3D One
The Abxylute 3D One is designed with user interaction in mind. It features detachable controllers with new twin touchpads on each grip, along with magnetic drift-resistant Hall effect joysticks and triggers. The 10.95-inch 2560 x 1600 display is notable for its versatility, functioning as a 3-in-1 convertible device. Users can lean the display back on a kickstand, use it with a magnetic keyboard folio, or hold it in hand, weighing a total of 2.45 pounds (1.11 kg).
Despite its advanced features, the device houses a 50 watt-hour battery, which is smaller than some competing models, such as the MSI Claw 8 and Asus ROG Ally X. It offers a switchable display with both 60Hz and 120Hz modes, though it lacks a variable refresh rate, which is often preferred for smoother gameplay. According to Lu, the 120Hz setting is essential for the 3D mode, and the larger screen size is purposely chosen to enhance the stereoscopic quality, allowing for a more immersive experience.
Market Impact and Future Prospects
While the Abxylute 3D One is not as portable as some of its competitors, its unique features may attract a dedicated audience. The concept of larger handheld devices is gaining traction, as evidenced by user interest in similar products like the Acer Nitro Blaze 11. Additionally, the potential for creators to utilize the glasses-free 3D technology for artistic purposes adds another dimension to the product’s appeal.
As the launch date approaches, Abxylute’s strategy of whitelabeling the product suggests a focus on branding and market positioning. Although the device will not carry the Sunday Dragon name in its final form, it retains many of the original features and specifications showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year.
With the advancement of technology and an increasing demand for immersive gaming experiences, the Abxylute 3D One is poised to make a significant impact in the gaming and tech markets. As consumers await its release, the combination of innovative features and strategic marketing may well position Abxylute at the forefront of the next wave of gaming technology.
