GoFundMe Launched for Paige Mitchell Following Tragic Hesperia Crash

A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated for Paige Mitchell, who tragically lost her life in a car accident involving a suspected DUI driver in Hesperia, California. The fundraising effort aims to honor her memory and assist the family with funeral expenses. Paige’s brother, Andrew Mitchell, created the campaign and conveyed the profound sorrow felt by the family in a heartfelt message.
In the GoFundMe description, Andrew stated, “It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you that my beloved little sister Paige has passed. It is a very painful moment for our family right now and we are trying to arrange for the funeral.” He reminisced about Paige, describing her as “so pure, so full of light, and so loved by everyone who knew her.” He added that her smile had the power to brighten even the darkest days, and her heart was “big enough to hold the whole world.”
The family faced devastating news on the morning of August 15, 2025, when they received a call informing them of Paige’s accident. The message detailed the harrowing moment they learned of her condition: “On the early morning of 8/15/25, we received the worst phone call we could have ever imagined. Our little sister in a car accident; we did not know the severity of the situation until we all made our way to the hospital, our little sister alone, unresponsive, and unrecognizable.” It was revealed that Paige had been struck by a driver suspected of being under the influence while she was out with friends.
The family’s goal is to provide Paige with “the beautiful, dignified farewell she deserves.” They expressed heartfelt gratitude for the community’s support, stating, “From the depths of our broken hearts, thank you for helping us say goodbye to our sweet Paige.” The GoFundMe campaign, titled “Support for Paige’s Family After Her Passing,” is accessible online for those wishing to contribute.
Details of the Incident and Investigation
Following the crash, initial reports from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated that Paige was driving the vehicle involved. However, a subsequent clarification from spokesperson Gloria Orejel confirmed that Paige was actually a rear passenger in the Honda Accord at the time of the collision. The tragic event occurred when the Honda, traveling east on Sequoia, proceeded into an intersection and collided with a 2022 Dodge Charger driven southbound by Danilo Zamora, 22, of Apple Valley.
Zamora sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. He was later booked on suspicion of DUI but was released on bail shortly thereafter. No injuries were reported for the passenger in the Dodge Charger, while all occupants of the Honda were taken to hospitals for evaluation. The investigation into the crash is currently being conducted by the Hesperia Police Department.
The tragic death of Paige Mitchell has resonated deeply within the local community, prompting an outpouring of support and condolences for the grieving family. As the GoFundMe campaign continues to gain traction, many are rallying to ensure that Paige is remembered and honored appropriately during this difficult time.
