The upcoming AI Innovation Summit at Minnesota State Moorhead will provide a platform for exploring artificial intelligence applications in both business and education. Scheduled from October 27 to 29, 2023, this three-day event will take place at the Comstock Memorial Union and will feature a variety of speakers from academia and industry.

On the first day, titled “Leading Business in the Age of AI,” participants will delve into topics such as agentic AI, ethics and bias mitigation, data governance and security, as well as return on investment in AI technologies. This segment aims to equip business leaders and stakeholders with critical insights into the evolving landscape of AI.

The second day, “Learning in the Age of AI,” is specifically tailored for educators. It will include a keynote address by Sean Beaverson, a representative from the Minnesota Education Generative AI Alliance for Education. Breakout sessions will focus on effective teaching strategies, critical AI literacy, and frameworks for evaluating AI tools, empowering educators to integrate AI into their curricula effectively.

Registration is open for both the business and education events, priced at $25 for the business summit and $15 for the educational segment, both of which include lunch. Those interested can visit the MSUM Foundation AI Innovation Summit website to secure their spots.

The final day of the summit will feature the AI High School Challenge, inviting high school students from the surrounding region to participate. This event aims to provide students with hands-on experience using AI tools, working in teams to address community challenges. Faculty and industry experts will guide the participants, and prizes—including scholarships—will be awarded to the top team and their school.
