T-Mobile and Siemens Energy Partner for Enhanced Connectivity

T-Mobile has secured a significant contract with Siemens Energy to provide its SuperMobile connectivity platform. This platform operates on T-Mobile’s advanced 5G-Advanced (5G-A) network and will enhance Siemens Energy’s operations across the United States, which encompass manufacturing sites as well as remote installation and service jobs.

Siemens Energy plays a crucial role in the U.S. energy sector, supporting nearly 25% of the nation’s energy generation. The company employs approximately 13,000 individuals across 25 facilities and 14 service centers nationwide. The partnership with T-Mobile will allow Siemens Energy to leverage the carrier’s robust network, providing its workforce with reliable connectivity essential for operational efficiency.

Empowering Workforce with Intelligent Connectivity

According to T-Mobile, Siemens Energy will utilize the SuperMobile platform for intelligent connectivity that includes built-in security features and satellite-to-cell coverage. This ensures that teams remain connected even in remote and challenging environments. Steve Douglas, Senior Vice President of Service Operations for North America at Siemens Energy, emphasized the importance of real-time connectivity, stating, “In some of the most remote and challenging environments, real-time connectivity isn’t just helpful — it’s essential. With SuperMobile from T-Mobile, our teams can work faster, safer, and with more confidence — a leap forward in how we serve customers and keep critical systems running.”

The SuperMobile service allows T-Mobile to create customized slices of the network specifically for Siemens Energy, enhancing communication capabilities. This advanced network slicing supports improved real-time collaboration between field crews and engineering teams, facilitating rapid data transfers and live video diagnostics.

Security and Satellite Integration

T-Mobile’s SuperMobile service also prioritizes security for critical infrastructure, integrating enterprise-grade encryption and authentication measures. This aspect is especially important for maintaining the integrity of operations within the energy sector. Additionally, Siemens Energy will benefit from access to T-Mobile’s satellite network, known as T-Satellite, following the operator’s launch of its satellite-to-mobile network in partnership with Starlink in July.
