Greeley Invites Public Input on Transit System Rebranding Efforts

The city of Greeley is preparing for a substantial expansion of its transit services and is inviting residents to participate in a focus group aimed at rebranding the Greeley-Evans Transit system. This meeting is scheduled for 12 p.m. on March 15, 2024, in the Columbine Suite at the University of Northern Colorado’s University Center, located at 2101 10th Ave. Residents interested in attending are encouraged to make reservations through an online link.
As part of the city’s initiative, plans are underway to expand the transit system to include new mobility hubs and additional routes connecting Greeley to neighboring regions such as Windsor and Fort Collins. A new route is also set to accommodate the upcoming Greeley-Weld County Airport, which is expected to open next year. This expansion necessitates a rebranding of the transit system, which will now reflect a broader service area beyond just Greeley and Evans.
Public Works Director Paul Trombino emphasized the importance of community involvement in this rebranding effort. “We really wanted to spend some time working with not only the city of Greeley and a lot of the residents that use it regularly, but also the surrounding communities that use it, and the surrounding communities that are asking for more routes from us,” he stated. Trombino believes that it is essential for residents to understand the effectiveness of the transit system in enhancing their daily lives, whether for commuting to work or for recreational travel across northern Colorado.
Community-Centric Enhancements Planned
The rebranding initiative will encompass more than just a new name. Residents can expect vibrant designs and significant improvements in route recognition, maps, bus stops, and bus wraps. To facilitate this process, the city has partnered with Studio Six, a creative agency that specializes in transit branding, marketing, and communications.
Transportation Planner Hanna Feldmann noted that the upcoming enhancements represent a timely opportunity to refresh the visual identity of the transit system. “We want the new brand to reflect community voices, make transit easier to navigate, and build excitement for the future of mobility in Greeley,” she explained.
The focus group meeting aims to gather input from community members to ensure that the new branding aligns with their expectations and needs. Residents can find more information about the project and how to participate at SpeakUpGreeley.com/regional-transit-brand.
As Greeley moves forward with these plans, the city aims to create a transit system that not only meets the current demands of its residents but also prepares for future growth and connectivity in the region.
