Medina Recreation Center Welcomes Donation of Baby Changing Tables

The Medina Community Recreation Center in Ohio has received a generous donation of baby changing tables from Foundations Worldwide Inc., a local supplier of children’s products. This addition follows a previous donation of a universal changing station, enhancing the facility’s family-friendly amenities.
Details of the Donation
Last month, Jansen Wehrley, the Parks and Recreation Director, revealed that Foundations Worldwide had offered to donate a universal changing station valued at $10,500. This month, Wehrley confirmed that the company has also provided baby changing tables, further supporting families using the recreation center. “Council just last month accepted the approval for the adult changing station and we had just completed our locker room renovations,” he noted.
Upon evaluating the existing baby changing facilities, the staff discovered that the current tables were outdated. Wehrley explained, “We reached out to Foundations to get a quote on baby changing tables, and then Foundations just shipped them to us for no cost.” The new changing tables will be installed in the recreation center’s family changing rooms, ensuring accessibility for all visitors.
The universal changing station can accommodate individuals of all sizes and support weights of up to 500 pounds. School maintenance staff have agreed to assist with the installation process. Additionally, the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities is collaborating with the center to provide customized instructional signage, which will be displayed near the changing station for user guidance.
Community Safety Initiatives
In related news, as Halloween approaches, the city of Medina is reminding parents to prioritize safety when selecting costumes, wigs, and accessories for their children. The city emphasizes the importance of choosing fire-resistant materials to prevent accidents during the festivities.
Moreover, children who will be out after dark are advised to attach reflective tape to their costumes and bags or carry glow sticks for visibility. The city further recommends opting for non-toxic makeup instead of masks, which can hinder vision.
The commitment of the Medina Community Recreation Center and local authorities to enhance community safety and family-friendly resources reflects a proactive approach to serving residents and ensuring a secure environment for families.
