Loveland Police Endorse Candidates for 2025 City Elections

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 52 in Loveland has announced its endorsements for the upcoming 2025 Mayor and City Council elections, following a comprehensive review and interviews conducted by its Legislative Committee. The endorsements reflect the Lodge’s commitment to supporting candidates who prioritize public safety and community service.
Endorsed Candidates for Loveland Elections
The endorsed candidates for the Loveland elections are: Patrick McFall for Mayor, Dana Foley for Ward 2, John Fogle and Christopher Say for Ward 3, and Zeke Cortez for Ward 4. Notably, the FOP Lodge did not issue an endorsement for any candidates in Ward 1, citing the competitive nature of that race.
In her statement, Jennifer Hines, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 52, expressed gratitude to all candidates who participated in the endorsement process. She emphasized the importance of strong leadership in the face of a growing population and increasing demands for public safety services.
Hines highlighted that the endorsed candidates have demonstrated a commitment to adequate staffing, superior service delivery, and competitive compensation for police personnel. “These candidates have shown strong support for public safety, leadership, and meaningful change,” Hines stated.
Community Voices and Suggestions
In a separate letter, local resident Rob Hall expressed his support for Kalina Middleton, a candidate for Ward 3. Hall praised Middleton for her strong leadership qualities, drawing a parallel between her and her father, a respected former member of the Planning Commission. He described her as intelligent and dedicated, emphasizing her focus on fiscal recovery and restoring community services.
“Loveland needs that kind of leadership again,” Hall stated, urging residents to support Middleton in the upcoming elections. He noted that her approach is grounded in fairness and accountability.
Meanwhile, another Loveland resident, Wanda Marker, raised a critical question about candidates’ stances on national issues. She suggested that candidates should be asked whether they support former President Donald Trump’s actions regarding the National Guard during civil unrest. Marker argued that a candidate’s response to such questions could reveal their moral leadership capabilities.
As the election season progresses, the Loveland community is encouraged to actively participate in discussions surrounding candidates and their policies. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 52 has set guidelines for opinion submissions, allowing for a maximum of 200 words per letter and requiring a 30-day waiting period before submitting additional letters about the same candidate.
With the election date set for November 2025, Loveland residents will have the opportunity to shape the future of their city by supporting candidates who align with their vision for effective governance and community safety.
