Catholic Charities Food Truck Offering Support

On September 23, 2025, the Catholic Charities food truck will be stationed at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, located at 1115 Walnut Street. The food distribution will take place from noon to 13:30, providing essential resources to those in need. Film Screening at First United Methodist Church

The First United Methodist Church at 330 West Market Street will host a special screening of “The Blind” on October 4, 2025, at 14:00. This film chronicles the life story of Phil Robertson, famed for his role in “Duck Dynasty.” It explores his journey from a troubled upbringing to overcoming personal challenges. Attendees can enjoy light refreshments and beverages during the event.

Shenandoah Library Honors Community Members

Recently, the Shenandoah Area Public Library acknowledged several memorials in honor of community members. Memorials were made for Ellen Skonieczny by William and Sally Koons, for Annie Flannery from Mary Ellen Matunis, for Joseph Barrett from Karen Cicioni, and for Thomas L.F. Barrett from Danny and Angie Salvadore. These gestures reflect the community’s commitment to remembering and honoring its members.

Tamaqua Car Show Set to Celebrate Classic Vehicles

Car enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the second annual Tamaqua Car Show on September 21, 2025, from 10:00 to 15:00 on South Railroad Street. Sponsored by the Tamaqua Historical Society and the Jukebox Cruisers Car Club, the event will feature a range of antique and classic vehicles. Three People’s Choice awards will be presented at 15:00, with the first 50 vehicles to arrive receiving a commemorative dash plaque.

There are no registration fees or advance registration required, making it accessible for all interested participants. A food vendor will be present, offering various choices, while music will be provided by the Jukebox Cruisers throughout the day. Portable toilets will also be available on-site. Vehicles can access South Railroad Street from either Spruce Street at the south end or West Broad Street at the north end.
