Animal shelters are bustling with potential furry companions looking for loving homes this season. Anne Arundel County Animal Care and Control is currently showcasing a variety of pets available for adoption, including dogs, cats, and rabbits.

Among these pets is Dexter, a friendly 2-year-old pitbull mix weighing 45 lbs. He thrives in a crate and is currently in a foster home with young children. If you would like to meet Dexter, please contact the shelter at [email protected] to arrange a visit.

Another pet in need of a home is Butter Burger, a 54 lb, 4-year-old American bulldog mix. Butter Burger is described as a playful and friendly low rider who would do best in an active, adult-only household. He is eager to find a permanent home before the holiday season. Interested adopters can visit the shelter to meet Butter Burger.

For those looking for a feline companion, Alfreda is a 10-year-old female cat who is both friendly and playful. She enjoys curling up on laps and watching the world outside. Alfreda requires a simple regimen for her diabetes management, as she is not insulin-dependent. More details about Alfreda can be obtained by contacting [email protected].

Additionally, the shelter has an adult male rabbit named Leo, who is neutered and searching for a playful home. Leo is known for his outgoing personality and loves to engage with people, particularly through his energetic antics with a box of tennis balls. Those interested in adopting Leo can inquire at the front desk of the shelter.

As the holiday season approaches, consider giving a pet a forever home. Each adoption not only saves a life but also brings joy and companionship into your home.
