TRENDS Launches AI-Powered Relief IQ for Cannabis Guidance

TRENDS has become the first cannabis dispensary in the United States to introduce an AI-powered wellness technology known as Relief IQ. Launched on September 23, 2025, this innovative platform aims to enhance the customer experience for both new and returning cannabis shoppers in New York City by providing tailored product recommendations based on personal wellness goals.
Navigating a dispensary can often be daunting due to the vast array of products and unfamiliar terminology. At TRENDS, customers are greeted by knowledgeable staff who guide them through the process. Using a tablet, kiosk, or mobile device, customers can select their primary wellness focus area, such as promoting relaxation, supporting sleep, or enhancing concentration.
Once a focus area is selected, Relief IQ leverages a database of publicly available cannabinoid research to generate product recommendations that align with customers’ wellness goals. This process is designed to be quick and intuitive, allowing customers to receive personalized suggestions within seconds. The platform is also synchronized with TRENDS’ real-time inventory, ensuring that shoppers can explore products that are available during their visit.
As the only dispensary in New York City to feature Relief IQ, TRENDS is committed to fostering an environment that encourages informed choices among cannabis consumers. In addition to retail offerings, TRENDS serves as a cultural hub, hosting various events such as yoga classes, live comedy shows, and educational workshops. These initiatives reflect the ethos of the Carter brothers, who aim to promote inclusivity, education, and community empowerment.
Rodney “Hurricane” Carter Jr., CEO of TRENDS, emphasized the significance of this launch. “As New York’s cannabis industry evolves, we’re committed to leading with innovation,” he stated. “Relief IQ represents the next step in how customers can explore cannabis, blending technology with personal service so every purchase feels confident and intentional.”
The platform, which is powered by Gojitech, is intended solely for educational purposes and does not provide medical advice. All products are compliant with New York state law for adult-use cannabis consumers.
TRENDS has a meaningful history, as it was founded almost 30 years after Rodney and Brandon Carter’s father was convicted of marijuana possession. As the 100th licensed retailer under the state’s CAURD program, TRENDS stands as one of the largest cannabis dispensaries in New York City. The store is dedicated to reimagining cannabis culture while serving as a retail, cultural, and community space.
