Third Arrest Made as Search for Suspect in Tennessee Killings Intensifies

A third individual has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the killings of four relatives of a Tennessee baby who was discovered abandoned last week. Law enforcement officials confirmed on Monday that Dearrah Sanders, aged 23, faces charges of being an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, allegedly assisting Austin Robert Drummond following the tragic deaths.
Authorities are currently searching a wooded area near Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, as part of the ongoing manhunt for Drummond, who is the primary suspect in this case. The search prompted a “soft lockdown” at the university. This lockdown restricts entry and exit from campus buildings, while normal activities proceed inside, as reported by a law enforcement source.
The investigation stems from the discovery of the bodies of James M. Wilson, 21; Adrianna Williams, 20; Cortney Rose, 38; and Braydon Williams, 15, who were found dead in Tiptonville, Tennessee, on September 26, 2023. Their deaths occurred just hours after the baby daughter of Wilson and Williams was located abandoned in a car seat in a random yard, approximately 40 miles southeast of where the bodies were found.
Alongside Sanders, two other individuals, Tanaka Brown and Giovonti Thomas, both 29, were arrested last week on similar charges of accessory after the fact. Brown is also facing an additional charge for tampering with evidence, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
Drummond remains at large, and the authorities are employing extensive resources in their search efforts. The TBI has urged anyone with information regarding Drummond’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation.
As this situation continues to develop, the community remains on high alert. The tragic circumstances surrounding the case have raised significant concerns among residents, particularly given the involvement of a young child. Local law enforcement agencies are working diligently to bring resolution to this case and ensure the safety of the surrounding areas.
This developing story will be updated as more information becomes available.
