Tri County Tech Achieves Record Enrollment with New Programs

Tri County Tech has reported a significant increase in enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year, achieving a record number of full-time students. This fall, the institution has 698 students enrolled, reflecting a remarkable 23% increase over the past two years. This surge in enrollment comes alongside an impressive classroom utilization rate of 94%, up from 90% last year and 88% the year before.
Dr. Tammie Strobel, superintendent and CEO of Tri County Tech, expressed her enthusiasm for the campus’s vibrant atmosphere. “When I see our parking lots full, Osage Market buzzing and classrooms filled, I know the young men and women walking our halls are receiving training that has the potential to change the trajectory of their lives. This is why our work matters,” she stated.
Program Expansions to Meet Growing Demand
In response to the rising enrollment, Tri County Tech has expanded several of its programs. The Practical Nursing program is set to graduate 36 students this December, a significant increase from 22 in previous years. The Firefighter/EMT program, which is in its inaugural year, launched at an impressive 88% capacity.
To accommodate increasing demand, the Nursing Assistant program has doubled its capacity by adding a second instructor. Additionally, the Aviation Maintenance & Drones program has broadened its curriculum, unlocking new career opportunities in Oklahoma’s second-largest industry. The Adult Career Development program is currently serving 70 enrollees in short-term workforce training, with an ambitious goal of reaching 350 by the end of the year.
Tri County Tech has also achieved a record 28% sending school service rate, positioning it among the top CareerTech Centers in Oklahoma. This year, access for students has expanded to include more participants from Dewey and Copan, and a second bus has been introduced for Bartlesville students.
Future Developments and Community Support
Recent and upcoming projects further illustrate Tri County Tech’s commitment to growth. The completion of the Health Occupations Wing remodel is underway, alongside ongoing broadband infrastructure training. A groundbreaking for a new Emergency Management Center is scheduled for later this fall, and plans are in place to submit a Distance Education application for a hybrid Practical Nursing program.
Dr. Strobel expressed gratitude for the community’s support, stating, “Together, we are making a difference and providing opportunity for every student who walks through our doors.” This collaborative effort highlights the importance of community engagement in fostering educational opportunities.
The initiatives at Tri County Tech not only reflect a commitment to education but also aim to equip students with vital skills for the workforce. As the school year progresses, the institution is poised for continued success and growth, with a focus on creating pathways for student achievement and career readiness.
