Southern Regional Technical College Foundation Grants Over $103K in Scholarships

The Southern Regional Technical College Foundation has awarded a total of $103,261 in scholarships to 90 students for the 2025 fall semester, which commenced on August 19, 2025. These funds are designated to assist students with various education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, classroom and lab supplies, and travel costs.
Among the recipients from the Moultrie area are students from several local communities. Notable awardees include Hannah Arnold and Krishna Turner from Norman Park, Dalton Bachelor from Hartsfield, and Taylor Chason and Taylor Figueroa from Meigs. The scholarship recipients from Moultrie include Torrey Edwards, Carmen Guzman-Castro, Alexis Hernandez, Lindsey Holton-Edwards, Jennifer Mitchell, Covin Payne, Francisco Perez Lopez, Emily Reyes Gonzalez, Donquerrious Shaw, Rayneisha Simmons, Brett Wilson, and Logan Wright. Additionally, Jasmine Linder from Pavo received a scholarship.
The increase in scholarship funds from $88,839.74 in the fall of 2024 to the current amount reflects both a rise in donor contributions and the college’s growing enrollment. According to the SRTC Foundation, the college has seen a remarkable 27.3% annual increase in enrollment from the Academic Year 2022 to the Academic Year 2025, marking ten consecutive semesters of growth through Fall 2025.
Christina Reneau, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, expressed gratitude to the donors, stating, “On behalf of the SRTC Foundation Board of Trustees, congratulations to each of these students on their fall 2025 scholarship awards. This is a very competitive process, and we are proud to celebrate our students’ accomplishments. Thank you to all of our generous donors who make awarding these scholarships possible.”
Looking ahead, the application window for spring scholarships opened on August 25 and will remain open until November 30. Current and prospective students at SRTC are encouraged to apply for Foundation scholarships online at the college’s website.
This initiative not only aids individual students but also contributes to the educational landscape in Moultrie and surrounding areas, reinforcing the community’s commitment to supporting higher education.
