Northshore Mall Hosts Clothing Drive to Support Local Children

The Northshore Mall in Peabody has launched a back-to-school clothing drive in collaboration with Cradles to Crayons. This initiative aims to provide essential clothing for children from birth to age 12, helping them thrive at home, school, and during play. The drive will run throughout August 2023, coinciding with Cradles to Crayons’ annual Giving Bus program.
According to Cradles to Crayons, the lack of proper clothing can significantly impact a child’s attendance and overall academic performance. The organization emphasizes the importance of ensuring that children feel confident and ready to learn as they return to school.
Details of the Giving Bus Program
A prominent yellow school bus is on display inside the Northshore Mall, positioned across from Tilly’s. This bus serves as a focal point for the clothing drive. Attached to the bus are numerous tags, each representing a child facing clothing insecurity. Each tag contains information such as the child’s gender, age, size, favorite color, and specific clothing requests.
Shoppers at the mall are encouraged to select one or more tags and purchase clothing items for the children listed. Once they have completed their shopping, donations can be placed next to the bus display, along with the respective tags. This interactive approach aims to engage community members in making a direct impact on the lives of those in need.
Supporting Local Children
The Giving Bus will remain at the Northshore Mall until September 1, 2023, providing ample time for shoppers to contribute. The collaboration with Cradles to Crayons underscores the mall’s commitment to supporting local families and fostering a sense of community.
