Computer science students from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) are gaining valuable experience through internships with local companies, particularly at investment management firm T. Rowe Price. This summer, students such as Wonder Akpabio and Gabriel Farmer secured positions that not only provide hands-on experience in technology but also contribute to their professional growth.

Farmer, also a junior in computer science, contributed to the maintenance of the company’s internal communications software, focusing on email and text message systems.

Rowe Price and highlighted the company’s outreach efforts, including participation in events like HackUMBC. In the spring, T. Farmer attended this program and found it beneficial in navigating the internship application process.
