The Lewisville Public Library is inviting the community to participate in a variety of enriching activities this fall, focusing on families and educational opportunities. Located at 1197 W. Main Street, the library is set to host free vision screenings and special events aimed at supporting homeschool families.

On September 29, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon, the library will facilitate free vision screenings for individuals aged six months and older. These screenings will be conducted by the Highland Village Lions Club in the Small Conference Room, and no prior registration is required. This initiative aims to help families identify potential vision issues early, ensuring that children receive timely care.

In addition to vision screenings, the library is also catering to the needs of homeschool families. On September 30, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., the Bennett Program Room will host a Homeschool Open House. This event invites parents and children to explore the library’s extensive resources and services that support at-home education. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about various educational materials and programs available to enrich their learning experiences.

For families looking for a blend of outdoor activity and storytelling, the library will host a Story Stroll Storytime at Central Park, located at 1899 S. Edmonds Lane. This event is scheduled for October 3, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Families can enjoy engaging storytime in a scenic setting. In case of inclement weather, updates will be provided via social media to ensure participants stay informed.

These initiatives reflect the library’s commitment to fostering community engagement and supporting educational growth among families in the Lewisville area. By offering free services and events, the library continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents.
