Eden Prairie Unveils Engaging Autumn Programs for Kids

As autumn approaches, local centers in Eden Prairie are launching a variety of programs aimed at keeping children active and engaged during non-school days. These initiatives provide opportunities for creative expression, outdoor exploration, and physical activity, allowing parents to ensure their children enjoy enriching experiences while school is out.
Creative Opportunities at the Art Center
The Art Center is set to offer a range of creative classes tailored for different age groups. On October 10, 2023, young artists aged 6 to 10 can participate in a workshop titled “Mix and Match Clay Animals,” scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Older children, aged 11 to 15, will have the chance to engage in weaving macrame or trying their skills on the pottery wheel earlier that same day.
The Art Center is also preparing for the upcoming MEA days on October 16 and 17, featuring thematic workshops that include “Under the Sea” crafts and “Spooky Painting” sessions. These workshops cater to various interests and provide a platform for young creators to explore their artistic talents. Parents can find additional details and registration information through Eden Prairie’s community bulletin.
Outdoor Adventures and Active Programs
Not to be overlooked, the Outdoor Center invites preschoolers and youth to enjoy the beauty of the fall season with their “School’s Out” programs. Scheduled for October 16, 2023, activities for children aged 3.5 to 6 and 7 to 11 will emphasize nature exploration alongside hands-on learning experiences. The program aims to immerse young participants in the vibrant autumn environment, fostering a connection with nature.
For children seeking a more physically demanding experience, Legacy Gymnastics will host Gymnastics Camps on selected dates throughout October and November. These full-day camps, open to ages 5 to 12, offer a chance for children to expend energy while developing skills in various gymnastics disciplines. Registration details for these camps and other activities are available in the Eden Prairie community bulletin.
As the days grow cooler and the landscape transforms with the changing seasons, these programs present an opportunity for children to continue learning and growing, even when school is not in session. For more information on these events and additional offerings, residents are encouraged to visit the Recreation section of the Eden Prairie website. This ensures that non-school days are filled with fun, creativity, and exploration.
