Nexon Reports Stronger Q2 2025-26 Results Despite Revenue Decline

Nexon has announced its Q2 2025-26 fiscal year earnings, revealing stronger-than-anticipated results despite significant year-on-year declines in revenue, operating income, and net income. The company highlighted the sustained momentum of key titles, such as Dungeon & Fighter and Maple Story, contributing to its performance during the quarter.
The collective revenue from Nexon’s three major franchises—Dungeon & Fighter, Maple Story, and FC Online—fell by 13% compared to the previous year. This decline is largely attributed to the expected decrease in revenue from Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, which was launched in Q2 2024.
Key Financial Highlights
For the second quarter of 2025, Nexon reported that The First Descendant’s results aligned with projections, with the upcoming Season 3, set to launch on August 7, expected to nearly triple quarterly revenue sequentially. In contrast, The Finals outperformed expectations, thanks in part to a well-received update in June. The shooter also began closed alpha testing in China earlier this month, indicating a broader market strategy.
Nexon noted that following a successful technology test in May, ARC Raiders is generating notable recognition and excitement among players. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, ARC Raiders is currently ranked third on Steam’s Top Wishlists chart worldwide, with a scheduled release on October 30, 2025.
Despite the overall decline, Dungeon & Fighter showed a robust recovery during the second quarter, achieving a revenue growth of approximately 67% year-on-year. However, the franchise’s total revenue still dropped by 40% compared to last year, primarily due to the mobile launch in Q2 2024. Nexon anticipates a further 45% decrease in Q3, although this could be mitigated by potential growth in PC sales.
Maple Story continues to excel, reporting a remarkable revenue increase of 60% year-on-year. This growth is driven by strong performance in Korea and the regional expansion of MapleStory Worlds. The company expects this positive momentum to continue, projecting a 70% year-on-year growth for the next quarter.
Leadership Insights
“Nexon delivered a highly positive performance with better-than-expected results in the second quarter,” stated Junghun Lee, president and CEO of Nexon. “We have re-ignited growth in key titles, created momentum for recent launches, and successfully introduced new services to expand our presence in large markets worldwide. Excitement is building for the October 30 launch of ARC Raiders, which is currently ranked as Steam’s third most wishlisted game worldwide.”
As Nexon navigates challenges in revenue, the focus remains on leveraging the success of its flagship titles and enhancing its service offerings to maintain and build its market presence.
