The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, Georgia, will host its 8th annual ARToberfest on October 25, 2025. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Turner Center Art Park, located at 605 N. Patterson St.. This vibrant event is free and open to the public, celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month and showcasing the talents of local and regional artists.

ARToberfest is a highlight for both the Turner Center and the Valdosta community. The festival features dozens of artist vendors, providing them with the opportunity to exhibit and sell their artworks. The Turner Center emphasized that the event allows artists to not only display their creativity but also to develop their business skills.

In addition to the artist booths, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities. The festival will include pottery, flameworking, and rug hooking demonstrations. Live music will enhance the atmosphere, while free youth activities such as professional face painting, trackless train rides, and a petting zoo from Fifth Day Farm will engage families. For those feeling creative, pumpkin painting will also be available. Food and beverage vendors will be on-site, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

A key highlight of ARToberfest is the plein air painting contest for participants aged 18 and older. The competition offers substantial monetary rewards, including a $1,000 prize for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place. Artists interested in participating in the contest must register for membership with the Regional Artist Community (RAC) for $75. This membership not only grants access to a free booth at ARToberfest but also allows for sales in the Turner Center Gift Shop and participation in the annual RAC Gallery Exhibit.

The successful organization of the 8th Annual ARToberfest is made possible through the generosity of several sponsors. Notable contributors include Blanton and Griffin Insurance, the Center for the Arts Guild, the Georgia Council for the Arts, the Greater Valdosta United Way, and various local businesses and individuals.

For those seeking more information or a detailed schedule of activities, the Turner Center encourages interested individuals to call (229) 247-2787 or visit their official website at turnercenter.org. This year’s ARToberfest promises to be an engaging and culturally enriching experience for all who attend.
