The girl group KATSEYE has launched a bold new collaboration with Gap, titled the “Better in Denim” campaign, while celebrating a triumphant performance at Lollapalooza. The campaign features a striking dance video set to the iconic 2003 hit “Milkshake” by Kelis, showcasing Gap’s latest denim styles. Members Megan, Yoonchae, Sophia, Manon, Lara, and Daniela have embraced a nostalgic Y2K aesthetic that resonates with their fans.

Megan described the campaign’s vibe as “so bold…and very obviously 2000s,” highlighting the work of choreographer Robbie Blue, known for his collaborations with artists such as Doechii and Tate McRae. The dance video captures the essence of the early 2000s, featuring sharp choreography that accentuates the denim pieces, including low-rise jeans and bodysuits.

Each member of KATSEYE expressed a personal connection to Gap. Yoonchae fondly recalled her childhood memories of wearing matching hoodies with her sister. “They were our favorite hoodies,” she shared. The campaign features various denim pieces, such as Megan’s Crop Shell Tank Top priced at $59.95, Yoonchae’s Denim Racing Jacket for $98, and Manon and Daniela’s Men’s Baggy Jeans available for $69.95.

As the campaign unfolds, KATSEYE members shared styling tips for their denim looks. Manon suggested pairing low-rise jeans with a crop top or an oversized shirt for a trendy silhouette. Lara explained her technique of unbuttoning and folding her jeans to achieve the perfect low-rise fit, allowing her briefs to peek out for added style. Daniela emphasized the importance of proportion, recommending pointed heels to elongate the legs when wearing low-waisted bell-bottoms.

The excitement surrounding the campaign comes on the heels of KATSEYE’s performance at Lollapalooza, which the group described as “insane.” Manon reflected on the experience, stating, “We didn’t think anyone would show up. Having this ocean full of people watching us perform was incredible.” This performance marked a significant milestone for KATSEYE and has set the stage for their upcoming tour.

KATSEYE is set to embark on their first-ever tour, starting on November 15, 2023. The tour will cover major cities across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
