Trinity Health and Livonia Police Launch Breast Cancer Awareness Event

Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins today, and in a significant effort to promote awareness, Trinity Health has partnered with the Livonia Police Department to host a community event later this month. This collaboration, which also includes the Faith & Blue organization, aims to engage families and provide valuable health resources.

The upcoming event will take place on October 11, 2023, from 11:00 to 14:00 at Nehasil Park, located at 33223 Five Mile Road in Livonia. Attendees can expect a range of activities designed to both entertain and inform. One of the highlights will be the unveiling of the new pink care car from the Livonia Police Department, symbolizing their commitment to breast cancer awareness.

In addition to the car reveal, the event will feature complimentary food, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, and face painting for children. A breast health question-and-answer session with experts from the Trinity Health team will also be available, offering attendees the chance to learn about breast cancer, its warning signs, and treatment options.

As part of this awareness initiative, Trinity Health Breast Imaging and Huron Valley are providing low-cost 3D screening mammograms on October 17, 2023. These screenings will be offered at facilities in Livonia, Brighton, Canton, Chelsea, Plymouth, and Ypsilanti for just $50. Payments can be made via cash, check, or credit card.
