Muskham Primary School Joins Aspire Multi-Academy Trust

Muskham Primary School officially became part of the Aspire Multi-Academy Trust on September 1, 2023. This transition marks a significant change for the primary school as it enters a new academic year, joining a network that includes several other educational institutions in the East Bridgford area. The trust encompasses a total of nine schools, including the Archbishop Cranmer C of E Academy and Gunthorpe C of E Primary School.
The addition of Muskham Primary School to the Aspire Trust aims to enhance the educational experience for its approximately 200 pupils from North Muskham, South Muskham, Bathley, Little Carlton, and Cromwell. Vanessa Nutter, operations and HR officer for the Aspire Multi-Academy Trust, expressed enthusiasm about this new partnership. “We are thrilled to welcome Muskham into our Trust family,” she stated. “This marks an exciting first step in our journey together, and we look forward to supporting the school as it builds on its many strengths and maintains its high standards, as recognised by HMI in June 2025.”
The conversion to academy status is expected to provide Muskham Primary School with access to additional resources, support, and professional development opportunities. The Aspire Trust’s “Take Care” ethos emphasizes the importance of caring for oneself and the community, an approach that Muskham will benefit from through collaboration with other schools in the trust.
In a formal agreement, Nottinghamshire County Council approved a 125-year full repairing and insuring lease for the school on August 19, 2023. This agreement enables the transfer of the school’s land and properties, located on Main Street in North Muskham, from the council to the academy trust.
Nutter highlighted the importance of this transition in strengthening a sustainable and ambitious educational environment. “We are very much looking forward to working alongside the staff, pupils, governors, and families at Muskham as they begin this new chapter with us,” she added.
As Muskham Primary School integrates into the Aspire Multi-Academy Trust, the focus will remain on providing high-quality education while supporting the local community. This development reflects a broader trend in the UK education system, where schools increasingly seek to collaborate within multi-academy trusts for shared benefits and enhanced educational outcomes.
