Muskham Primary School Joins Aspire Multi-Academy Trust

A primary school in North Muskham has officially joined the Aspire Multi-Academy Trust as of September 1, 2023. Muskham Primary School’s transition into the trust represents a significant step forward as it embarks on a new academic year. This multi-academy trust also encompasses several other institutions, including Archbishop Cranmer C of E Academy and Gunthorpe C of E Primary School.
Vanessa Nutter, the operations and HR officer for Aspire, expressed enthusiasm about Muskham’s integration into the trust. In her statement, she noted, “We are thrilled to welcome Muskham into our Trust family. This marks an exciting first step in our journey together, and we look forward to supporting the school as it builds on its many strengths and maintains its high standards, as recognised by HMI in June 2025.”
The academy conversion allows Muskham Primary School to access additional resources and professional development opportunities that are part of a larger network of schools. Currently, the school serves approximately 200 pupils from North Muskham, South Muskham, Bathley, Little Carlton, and Cromwell.
Nutter further emphasized the importance of the trust’s philosophy, stating, “At Aspire, our ‘Take Care’ ethos—taking care of ourselves, each other, our work, and our future—underpins everything we do. Muskham will now benefit from the opportunities, expertise, and collaboration that come from being part of a wider network of schools.”
The transition was facilitated by Nottinghamshire County Council, which approved a 125-year full repairing and insuring lease on August 19, 2023. This arrangement transfers the school’s land and properties on Main Street in North Muskham from the council to the academy trust.
Nutter concluded her remarks by highlighting the trust’s commitment to educational excellence. “For Aspire, this is another important step in strengthening a sustainable and ambitious trust, always placing children at the heart of our work. We are very much looking forward to working alongside the staff, pupils, governors, and families at Muskham as they begin this new chapter with us.”
As Muskham Primary School joins the Aspire Multi-Academy Trust, it anticipates enhanced support and collaboration that will benefit its community while ensuring a high standard of education for its students.
