MoWest Students Shine at SIGGRAPH 2025 Conference in Vancouver

Three students from Missouri Western State University recently showcased their talents on an international stage at the SIGGRAPH 2025 conference held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This prestigious event is recognized as the leading conference for computer graphics and interactive techniques, attracting top talent and industry leaders from around the globe.

The students, representing MoWest’s Digital Animation program, engaged with industry professionals and recruiters, gaining invaluable insights into the field. Kylee Derr, a senior digital animation major, expressed her enthusiasm about the experience, stating, “It really feels like it’s given me a jump start on my career. Being able to talk to industry professionals and recruiters and having all of that community feedback was really nice. It was a great experience.”

Students had the opportunity to explore various facets of the animation industry. Eliza Kuker, also a senior in the program, highlighted the conference’s impact on her perspective. “It definitely showed me that I had more opportunities within the career field than I originally thought,” she remarked. “There were many unique places there that I would have never assumed had animation positions. It really showed me that I can go in any direction I really want to.”
