A recent analysis by Niche has revealed the best public middle schools in Missouri for 2023. The rankings consider various factors, including academic performance, teacher quality, overall district ratings, cultural diversity, and feedback from parents and students. Notably, online schools were excluded from this assessment to focus solely on traditional institutions.
Top Ten Public Middle Schools in Missouri
The top-ranked school, Wydown Middle School, is located in the School District of Clayton. Catering to grades six through eight, it boasts an enrollment of 615 students and maintains an impressive student-to-teacher ratio of 10:1. With a Niche grade of A+, Wydown Middle School stands out for its commitment to academic excellence and student welfare.
Following closely is Ladue Middle School, also serving grades six to eight, situated in the Ladue School District. This school has an enrollment of 1,031 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 13:1, earning a Niche grade of A+. Its strong focus on academics and student engagement has contributed to its high ranking.
Another notable institution is Crestview Middle School, part of the Rockwood R-VI School District, which serves 1,142 students with a 15:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Like the previous schools, Crestview also achieved a solid Niche grade of A, reflecting its commitment to providing a supportive learning environment.
The list continues with Brentwood Middle School, which, despite its smaller enrollment of 164 students, maintains a favorable student-to-teacher ratio of 10:1 and a Niche grade of A. Its personalized approach to education allows for more focused attention on each student.
Parkway West Middle School, located within the Parkway School District, serves 922 students with a ratio of 14:1. This institution has also earned a Niche grade of A, showcasing its commitment to maintaining a high-quality educational environment.
Additional Rankings
Summit Lakes Middle School ranks sixth, located in the Lee’s Summit R-VII School District, with an enrollment of 1,033 and a student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1. It also received a grade of A from Niche, indicating strong academic performance and community involvement.
In seventh place is Wildwood Middle School, which serves 543 students and has a 11:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Like its peers, it also boasts a Niche grade of A, highlighting its effective teaching methodologies and student support systems.
Delta Woods Middle School, located in the Blue Springs R-IV School District, serves 808 students with a 15:1 student-to-teacher ratio. It has earned a Niche grade of A, reflecting its dedication to academic standards and student enrichment.
Lastly, the ninth and tenth places are occupied by Rockwood Valley Middle School and Nipher Middle School, respectively. Rockwood Valley serves 643 students with a 13:1 ratio and has a grade of A, while Nipher Middle School, part of the Kirkwood School District, has an enrollment of 651 and a ratio of 12:1, also achieving a grade of A.
