Youth Group Partners with Convoy of Hope to Raise Funds
The youth group at Mitchell Assembly of God is mobilizing to support those in need through a partnership with Convoy of Hope, a Christian organization dedicated to disaster relief efforts. On February 2, 9, and 16, 2024, students will serve at Pizza Ranch to raise funds for this vital initiative, demonstrating their commitment to helping individuals who have experienced significant loss.
Convoy of Hope operates both nationally and internationally, providing assistance during times of crisis. Their work emphasizes the importance of community support, particularly for vulnerable populations affected by disasters. The involvement of young volunteers from the church signifies a proactive approach to philanthropy, encouraging a spirit of service among the next generation.
Through this initiative, students are volunteering their time and energy, embodying the values expressed in the biblical passage from Matthew 25:34-40. This scripture highlights the call to care for those in need, stating, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink.” In aligning their actions with these teachings, the youth group aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Community members are invited to support this endeavor by dining at Pizza Ranch on the specified dates. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Convoy of Hope, allowing the organization to continue its critical work. Additionally, individuals can contribute through financial donations, enhancing the outreach efforts aimed at helping those facing hardships.
The commitment of the youth group at Mitchell Assembly of God serves as a reminder of the impact that collective action can have in times of trouble. By participating in this fundraising initiative, they are not only providing immediate assistance but also fostering a culture of compassion and generosity within their community.
As this month celebrates love and kindness, the youth group’s efforts exemplify the spirit of giving that resonates deeply with many. Through their service, they hope to inspire others to join in spreading love and support to those who are most vulnerable.
