The New Market Area Library has announced the launch of interactive storytime programs designed for preschoolers, scheduled to run from September 2023 to May 2024. These activities aim to promote early literacy in young children through engaging storytelling experiences.

Books and Babies Program

The first offering, titled Books and Babies, will take place at 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. This program is tailored for children from birth to age 3 and requires the presence of a parent or caregiver. Each session will feature a variety of activities, including stories, chants, sensory experiences, rhymes, songs, and collaborative play, all revolving around a specific monthly theme.

Preschool Storytime Sessions

Additionally, the library will host the Preschool Storytime program at 10 a.m. on the third Friday of each month. Aimed at children ages 3 to 5, this program also requires parental involvement. Participants can look forward to an assortment of books, songs, rhymes, games, and crafts, all designed to enhance learning and creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

For further details, interested parties can contact Becky Kipps at [email protected]. These storytime sessions not only provide valuable bonding opportunities between parents and children but also lay a foundational love for reading and learning in young minds.
