Microsoft is significantly enhancing its AI assistant, Copilot, with a series of new features aimed at improving user experience across its platforms. The tech giant is set to roll out these updates in the coming months, reflecting its commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into everyday workflows.

As part of this initiative, Microsoft plans to introduce interactive Bing web answer cards that will respond to user prompts about various topics such as stocks and weather. This feature, tracked as ID 500865, is scheduled for release in November 2025. In a strategic move, this update promotes both Copilot and Bing services simultaneously.

Small businesses will also benefit from increased flexibility regarding Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses. According to ID 501581, the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard will no longer require a minimum of 50 licenses to track adoption trends in Copilot Chat Insights. This change is also slated for November 2025.

Enhancements to OneDrive and Document Creation

The OneDrive file browsing experience within the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on iPad and iPhone is set for a significant overhaul. Users will be directed to the dedicated OneDrive app for advanced actions, including folder navigation, permission settings, and downloads. Despite these changes, users can still search and view recent files directly within the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.

Another notable upgrade is the ability to create documents using prompts, identified as ID 501277, with a planned rollout in October 2025. Additionally, a related feature, tracked as ID 500632, will allow users to generate documents through prompts, expected to be available by September 2025.

Enterprise customers will gain new capabilities with Copilot Chat that allow them to inquire about their meetings based on RSVP statuses. For instance, users can prompt, “List all events I have not RSVPed.” This feature, tagged as ID 499429, is anticipated to launch next month.

New Features Coming to Teams and Government Customers

In September, organizations will be able to reference a Loop or Page while creating PowerPoint presentations with Copilot’s assistance, an update denoted by IDs 500862-4. Furthermore, the launch of the dedicated Microsoft 365 Copilot app from the Copilot Chat pane in Microsoft 365 applications is also scheduled for that month, identified as ID 500866.

The Copilot Chat pane will also be integrated into Microsoft Teams, appearing in chats, calls, and meetings with the ID 501107.

Government Community Cloud (GCC) customers will also see enhancements shortly, enabling them to utilize Copilot’s GenAI capabilities to create images, posters, forms, and infographics that align with their official branding.

While Microsoft outlines these features in its 365 Roadmap, it is important to note that the release dates and functionalities are subject to change. The company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Copilot signifies its role in shaping the future of work through advanced technology.
