Chengdu Innovator Launches Fleet of Flying Sword Drones

A technology enthusiast from Chengdu, China, has successfully developed a fleet of flying sword-shaped drones, blending traditional martial arts with modern technology. Since November 2024, Fan Shisan, a local tech blogger and influencer, has been pioneering a motion-sensing system that allows him to control multiple drones using only hand gestures. We added four more, which gave us the power we needed, and that’s how the ‘flying sword’ you see in the video became a reality,” he stated. Fan’s passion for swords extends beyond drones. He holds two Guinness World Records: one for the fastest time to slice five pieces of A4 paper in mid-air, achieved in 7.46 seconds, and another for the quickest time to carve through ten watermelons using a martial-arts blade.
