Andrew Garfield, Katie Couric Among 2025 Anthem Awards Finalists

The 2025 Anthem Awards have unveiled their finalists, featuring notable figures such as Andrew Garfield and Katie Couric. This year’s nominees include organizations like Sesame Workshop, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, and global entities such as Google and Spotify. The awards, facilitated by the Webby Awards and now in their fifth year, recognize impactful work dedicated to social change across various sectors.
The Anthem Awards celebrate individuals and organizations committed to making a difference worldwide. This year’s finalists exemplify an “unwavering commitment to progress and positive change,” particularly as many nonprofits and advocacy groups encounter challenges related to funding and mission fulfillment.
Patricia McLoughlin, general manager of the Anthem Awards, expressed her admiration for the finalists in a statement, noting, “In our fifth year of the Anthem Awards, we are celebrating and honoring the true changemakers that are pushing humanity forward, especially amid current challenges.” She emphasized that this year’s finalists represent “hope, compassion, and inclusivity,” and highlighted the importance of collective action in driving change.
Selection Process and Judging Panel
Finalists were chosen from over 2,000 submissions across 42 countries by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS). The judging panel includes prominent figures such as Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association, and Mitu Yilma, vice president of content and brand at the Born This Way Foundation. Other judges include Miguel Castro from the Gates Foundation, Trovon Williams of the NAACP, and Lauren Garcimonde-Fisher from Planned Parenthood.
Winners, determined by the judges in gold, silver, and bronze categories, will be announced on November 18, 2025. Each winning entry will feature a “Call to Action Speech” that can be viewed in the Anthem winners gallery, showcasing the impactful messages behind their achievements.
Additionally, the Anthem Community Voice Awards will honor the for-profit and nonprofit entries receiving the most community support. Voting for these awards will be open online until October 30, 2025.
The Anthem Awards continue to shine a light on those striving to create meaningful change, offering recognition to a diverse range of impactful initiatives that resonate globally. As the awards ceremony approaches, the focus remains on celebrating the power of unity and the potential for positive transformation in society.
